Misael, an Italian art company, was launching in South Africa at Design Indaba 2009. The eight by eight metre stand is made up of 150 four-metre high white polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes slotted randomly onto a raised platform. It is intended as a white forest with a clearing at its centre that would encourage people to meet, greet, eat and drink together. The company’s artworks are scattered around the forest to create a place of discovery and a place of wonder.
